Coming Soon proves that the French Alps are not only about ski, cheese and beautiful landscapes. A killer new single and 2 exclusive tracks for you + bonus interview below:
Hi, how are you doing?
Good & green, just like europe !What’s goin’ on in Coming Soon’s world right now?
A lot, french summer festivals plus the release of a new album in september. Coming Soon’s
world is filled with dust, feathers, new words & flames, burning flames !What are you currently listening to?
Bill Callahan’s Sometimes I wish We Were An Eagle,
& Jim Jarmusch’s soundtrack for The Limits Of Contral
+ this song Shake Shake Mama by Bod Dylan, man, what a song !5 albums/books/films you can’t live without?
Tom Waits’ Frank’s Wild Years
The Silver Jews’ Bright Flight
Robert Aldrich’s Kiss Me Deadly
Lewis Caroll’s The Hunting Of The Snark
René Char’s Feuillets d’HypnosHow is the scene in Annecy at the moment? Are you still living there?
Quiet. Only Alex & Leo go to school in Annecy but we meet there on week ends, funerals, birthdays & holidays. You are just releasing your new EP in a difficult time for the music industry: how do you see the future for it?
We started playing music in these difficult times, we’ve never met the golden years of music industry.
We like to think there is a future for live music & songs. But you know what Philip Glass says, you’ve got to play
for the future & you’ve got to play for the past & the dead…How important is the internet for you as an artist?
It is very important for bands i think. It allows you to connect with people only through signs (short words, music clips,
low-res videos). I met my best friend Adam Cotton through the internet.
It is a great addiction or distraction or diversion, it makes you look at 50 things at the same time 500 times a day,As an artist, what would be the perfect online service?
A website that would help you recover lost memories with a few key words. I’m sure Chris Marker can create this !Where do you see this whole internet thing going?
Into the pockets of a secret society of 13 people, at least that’s what I read !Do you live off music today?
Maybe 6 months a year, that’s a good start !Anything to add?
“It’s ti-i-i-ime to put God away…”.
