Where are you from?
I am from Austin, TX. It’s a pretty cool town for being an artist/musician. There are a lot of people striving for greatness in both fields and it has definitely pushed me over the years to keep going. How would you classify your sound?
Electronic World music. I change a lot though based on my mood.
What’s the most important thing that’s happened to you lately?
I had an awesome Christmas in Sweden with my girl. Swedish meatballs, caviar and deviled eggs…When did you know you wanted to make music for a living?
I was 14 years old and made a 70% in my high school classical guitar class. I was also taking guitar lessons outside of school. My dad canceled the lessons outside of school due to my poor grade. My argument for keeping the lesson was, “What if I want to do this for a living Dad?”Are your family and friends supportive?
Everyone has been really supportive, except for the guitar lesson cancellation. Had some bumps in the road over the years but for the most part I’ve had a lot of positive reinforcement and help from my family members and friends.Where do you find inspiration?
I find my inspiration randomly I guess. I can’t really explain it. I just catch a feeling inside and know I must be creative. I’m not really a formulaic writer. I just follow the journey while I’m creating and get there when I get there.Would you rather DIY or sign with a major label?
Either way I’d be stoked. What do you think about the current state of the music industry?
It makes me nervous and also excited. Change is always the same for me. It’s freaky and fun. I truly believe something great will come out of the shifting industry.Who would you love to work with that you haven’t already?
I’d love to work with the Neptunes. That would be truly amazing for me.What is the hardest part of what you do?
Not giving up. I have been pretty much broke my whole life. I went to college with the idea that I would get a great job and break my family artist trend. Now I am exactly like my artist father. He’s doing great with his art now though. That’s motivation for me to keep trying to at least earn a more decent living at it. Either way I love being creative and getting by.
How do you define success?
I’d like 20,000 plays a day on Fairtilizer, a furnished apartment of my own and the ability to buy new shoes every so often. That would be success for me.
