German house producer Tensnake distributes his summer mix via Fairtilizer and releases his ep “In the end” through Running Back records. Bonus interview below:

What are you up to at the moment?
Actually I was just going to throw my studio computer out of the window.
Instead of enjoying two lovely summery days outside, I was trying to figure out why it is always crashing.
But in general I am working on a couple of remixes and two new EPs which will be released end of the year.

What’s your EP ‘In the end’ about?
Love, Life, Music, and Death

Why did you release your new Ep on Running back and not on Mirau?
Some of the tracks are actually pretty old.
Our distributor went broke and we had to find a new one for our label (Mirau).
So I sent the tracks to Running Back, because it was (and is ) one of my favorite labels out there.

How would you define Tensnake’s sound?
Probably as the sound of a tipsy bear in a flamingo suit…

What are your influences, musical family and side projects?
As far as I can remember I started consuming and listening to music in the 80s, which had of course massive influence on my musical background.
Im also trying not to spend too much time in the studio. The best influence is life in general, including the good and the bad things.

You are just releasing your Ep in a difficult time for the music industry: how do you see the future for it?
I really don’t know. Im trying not to think too much about it. The most important is the music for itself. Everybody needs it, everybody loves it.
So music will survive, that’s for sure. Don’t know if the industry will….

Are you planning on releasing an album?
Absolutely, but its growing pretty slow. So I can’t say yet when its going to be released.

As an artist how do you use & see the web today? How important is it for you?
It’s a really great opportunity to get in touch with people who are sitting on the other side of the planet.

How’s the scene in Hamburg?
Small and cozy

Best thing that happened to you recently?
A best friend just became a father. That was pretty… amazing!

Number one junk food?
A greasy burger combined with a bad hangover

Best place to live?
Michael Jackson thought about moving to Bahrain, so I guess it must be pretty cool there….

I rarely watch tv
